Frequently Asked Questions

1

How does the process work?

Dependant on the service required, we book a free initial discussion/ consultation to discuss your requirements and whether JKWR can help, then we go into specifics relating to required timeframe, costing considerations/ estimations, materials, special requirements (physical meetings, special file formats, overseas shipping etc), NDA’s, IP ownership etc. – this forms the project scope.

If an agreement is made, JKWR will quote for the work, and if agreed, work will commence as soon as the initial down-payment is received.

2

How are projects priced?

TBC

3

Can you sign NDA’s?

Yes, and provide a template for an NDA if required.

4

Do you offer ongoing retainer services?

Of course – contact to discuss options/ availability

5

Who owns the IP of a project?

This is discussed during the initial consultation, but usually, if the customer wants an NDA in place, they remain the owner of the IP.

6

What file formats are provided?

Typical examples are universal formats such as STEP214 (.stp) for CAD models, and DXF (.dxf) for drawings – other file formats are available upon request (.stl for ease of 3D printing, or original file .ipt at an additional rate)

For documents, they can be provided in PDF, Microsoft Word (format?), or text files – client choice.

7

Can I see examples of past work or case studies?

Of course. Although some client projects require an NDA in place, some give permission to share examples of work – these can be found on the Portfolio page

8

What is the frequency of communication on project progression?

This will be discussed in the initial consultation – some clients do not require updates until the project/ task is completed, while others want regular/ periodic progress updates.

9

Can you help source manufacturers?

Yes, I have built relationships with manufacturers in multiple industries over the years and can personally recommend several. Or I can do the leg-work to source suitable suppliers and vet them.
